She has recently been awarded an excellence award for young private practice lawyer of the year 2021 and made the 2022 Rising Stars list. We are pleased to announce Chris’ appointment as President of the Wellington Branch of the New Zealand Law Society which was announced at the Wellington Branch Annual General Meeting last night. We are all very proud of Chris and his achievements and we are looking forward to having him as our new Wellington Branch President.
Barristers.Comm is very pleased to announce that Cassandra Kenworthy has begun practicing law on her own account as of December 1st 2020. Cassandra has been a junior barrister at our chambers for five years, and is a valued member of the Barristers.Comm family. Cassandra will be remaining with us at Barristers.Comm as a newly appointed director of the company.
Barristers.Comm were very pleased to welcome Callum Reid to our chambers as a door tenant in October 2020. Callum specialises in Public and Administrative Law, Civil and Commercial Litigation, Company Law, Insolvency Law and Restructuring, Commercial Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution, and Property and Trust Law.
Now that New Zealand is in Alert Level 2, our Chambers are open again. We are following government hygiene and contact tracing recommendations and we are pleased to welcome everyone back to work and to our Chambers.
Some of the Barristers are still working from home most days of the week, but they are still reachable by phone and email as always, and our reception is staffed again.

All of us at Barristers.Comm are currently working from home due to the alert level 4 lockdown put in place by our government in response to the Covid-19 virus. We are all still reachable via email and online, but our office will not be staffed until the government lifts the restrictions on businesses.
We hope all friends of Barristers.Comm and the wider community are taking sensible precautions at this time and taking care of themselves and their loved ones. We hope to see you in our office again once the situation goes back to normal.
Barristers.Comm had the pleasure of welcoming Nicola Keating into our chambers as a junior barrister in 2019 after she moved to New Zealand from the UK.
Update 21/05/2020: Nicola has moved on to another job in police prosecution. We wish her well in her new adventures.
